Train Service is Slap in Face
Local campaigner Nigel Bakhai was joined by the Liberal Democrat transport team as he served a final demand on First Great Western Rail company and called on the Labour Government to terminate the company's rail franchise if it does not meet certain targets.
Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary Susan Kramer MP and GLA Transport Spokesperson Geoff Pope joined Nigel in issuing a list of demands.
Nigel Bakhai, said:
"Services from stations throughout Ealing Southall are overcrowded and unreliable.
"It's a slap in the face for commuters who have to pay hundreds of pounds to travel into London.
"The Labour government is allowing First to take advantage of rail users in our community.
"If the company does not meet these targets, the government should terminate First's franchise."
